www.onetwoseven.org.uk has declared the twelfth day for the seven month as World 127 Day. That's next Tuesday folks! Go out and shoot something on 127 format, and submit it to the 127 gallery.

The rules are simple:
Anyone (site regular or not) is encouraged to take part.
Photographs must be taken 12 July 2005 (Your own local time).
Photographs must be on 127 film.
Each person may submit 1 photograph
It should be scanned at approximatly as a jpeg, 500pixels longest side.
Submissions should be sent to ian@onetwoseven.org.uk by 26 July.
(Alternative submission format by arrangement).
A gallery of submitted photo's will be posted at www.onetwoseven.org.uk

What if you don't have a 127 camera? Are they manufacturing spools to fit into my Hassy?

The 127 spool is smaller than the 120 spool. I suppose you could create a 127 to 120 spool adapter for your Hassy using an extra 120 spool. There are a number of 127 cameras out there ranging from the inexpensive plastic "toy" cameras to the baby Rollei. Similar to Toy Camera Day and World Pinhole Camera Day, World 127 Day is raising the awareness to this almost forgotten film format that is still available today.

Don't have much time to devote to this, do I? Doubtful I'd be able to find a camera that quickly. Next year perhaps. Getting ready to delete the Hasselblad from my repetoire in favor of another Leica M body and two lenses. Not sure a 127 is right for me at the moment. I've got the link saved and I'll check in periodically.

Thanks for this Dave. It sounds fun.

What about the last day of the first week in December? That is for those that date YYYY:MM:DD (incidentally that is the iso9000 standard I am told), like South Korea and some other countries round the world, forget which ones

Be great to have two 127 days in the year

Ian will be running/posting/hosting the 127 day again this year (2006). Same deal, anything on 127 size film, any subject as long as it is shot on July 12th.
