I teach a photography class at the high school level and we use film scanners.  The film scanner that I have been using is a Minolta Diamage II and I have had my first break down after three semesters of use.  Does anyone know of a film scanner that seems to hold up and yet is in a $500 price range??

I have been using Epson scanners. Not $500.00 but they are reliable and work well.
Your lucky you have $500.00 to spend.

I've used the HP Photosmart film scanner for three years.  I've never had a problem with it, and it's been under steady use during the majority of that time.
